Abstract. The article reveals the stages of studying the «Length» value in elementary school according to the educational complex «School of Russia». The methodological techniques used in mastering each unit of length are considered. The emphasis is placed on the fact that familiarity with the units of length should be associated with a particular life situation or a didactic game that simulates it.
